Local businesses: Go Gold with Us!

Hosting a point-of-sale campaign is a light lift and turnkey way to raise money. Every dollar donated sends a kid with cancer to camp, at no cost to their family.

Who is Camp Quality and What Do We Do?

Camp Quality gives kids with cancer a place to just be kids again. We provide traditional summer camping experiences and year round programming for children with cancer ages 0 to 17 and their families, at no cost to them. With trained medical professionals supporting every camp, children can step away from their reality and just be a kid again.

At camp, every child is paired one to one with a trained volunteer companion who stays with them all week. Siblings come too, because a cancer diagnosis lands on a whole family, not just one kid. We believe that supporting all children in a family gives parents much needed respite. The support doesn’t stop when summer camp ends. Families stay engaged with us all year through our year-round programming: day programs, family weekends, holiday parties and community conversation so families are always connected.

Camp Quality is where kids can just be kids again. Playing in nature, catching fireflies, and building friendships with their peers that get it. Support outside hospital walls, treatment centers and therapies.

Camp Quality USA operates 14 camps that serve children and families across 22 states. Every business that supports Camp Quality through a point of sale campaign can designate their customer funds to support the camp closest to their community.

How it works

Four ways to participate.

1

Put a sign + bucket on your counter

We can print and ship flyers if you need or you can download and print yourself.

Easiest · Any business
2

Ask customers to round up

If your sales team members are asking customers to “round up” at the register, we have a script ready to go to support those team members.

Raises the most · Retail and grocery
3

Pick a day to give back

Choose one day and donate a portion of your sales. We promote it to our local audience and bring people through your door on a day that you choose.

Restaurants · Retail
4

Percentage of Sales

Give a flat amount per sale, and/or match what your customers give. You pick the structure and the number, and we will never ask what you earn on a sale.

We are flexible in the way that retailers and businesses support us. Any questions? Reach out to us at development@campqualityusa.org.

Dealerships · Jewelers · Brokerages · Contractors

What it costs you

Nothing.

There is no fee or minimum to participate, and no obligation to do it again. We have materials available to download and print, or we can mail them directly to you. We will stay in touch the whole time, and when your fundraiser wraps up you can simply recycle the signs.

What you get

  • As many flyers as your space needs
  • A Camp Quality representative, plus the support of our national team, available whenever you need us
  • Promotion of your business to our local audience throughout your fundraiser or on the day you choose
  • A listing on our participating business page
  • A ready made graphic so you can announce it to your own customers
  • A thank you letter and a receipt, if applicable
  • Pride in knowing that you’re bringing joy to kids with cancer!

What to expect

Four steps, from the day you say yes to the day we say thank you.

1

You say yes

Fill out the form below or tell the volunteer who reached out.

2

We build and ship, ASAP

We have materials ready to download and print yourself or we can print and ship you materials. Do you need a tweak or something made that we don’t have available? Just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

3

While it runs

The signs, or POS prompts, do the work. We check in to make sure you have everything you need, and we promote your business to our local audience.

4

When it ends

We follow up on anything collected another way, then send a thank you letter and a receipt, if applicable.

You choose when. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, so it is when we go loudest. But kids with cancer need camp all year, and we will happily set up your business to support us in any month that works best for your business. Tell us your preferred time frame on the form and we will build around it.

Questions

What business owners ask us.

Does this cost my business anything?

No. There is no fee, no minimum, and no obligation to participate again. We ship you everything you need at our expense, and when you are finished the materials are yours to recycle.

Does this have to happen in September?

No. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, so it is when most businesses choose to host the campaign as we have so much earned media in September But kids with cancer need camp every month of the year, and we are glad to help support you whenever it suits your business.

Some businesses run it for a full month, some for a week, some for a single day. Tell us the campaign time frame you want and we will work around it.

Can we just print the signs ourselves?

Of course! We want to make everything as easy as possible for your business, that's why we offer to print and ship. Please click any links to download and print the materials you wish.

How many flyers can we get?

Share the quantities needed on the sign up form if you’d like us to mail them to you. If you run short partway through, message your Camp Quality representative and we can send more.

What happens to the materials when we are finished?

You can simply recycle them.

What if we have questions once we are up and running?

You will have a Camp Quality representative for your business, and our national team behind them. Call, text, or email whenever. We check in along the way to see how it is going and whether you need anything restocked, but you never have to wait for us to reach out first.

Will you help promote our business?

Yes! We will share your support on our business landing page, via email and on social media.

My register cannot do a round up prompt. Can we still take part?

Yes! We can get creative with you if your point of sale software or system does not support a round up campaign. Retailers usually offer a flat dollar amount instead OR we can create a QR code for your customers to scan and give or we can ship you a container to collect coins and dollars at the register.

Do my staff have to ask customers for money?

It is the most effective and successful way to raise money at the register. Only if you want your staff to. Our signage works without anyone saying a word. If you do want your team to ask, we give them one sentence and nothing more.

We sell a handful of high value items a month. Does any of this work for us?

Yes, and not in the way we ask everyone else. A percentage of sales is not a sensible ask for a dealership, a jeweler, a brokerage, or a contractor, so we do not make it.

What works instead is a flat amount for every sale you close during your window, with you naming the amount.

Will you ask us to disclose our margins or commission?

No. You pick the structure and the number, we put whatever you decide in writing so there is no ambiguity later, and we take the total you report at face value. We will not ask for documentation.

Can we advertise that we are doing this?

We would love that, and it needs to be confirmed in writing first. We have a quick and simple Third-Party Agreement that protects both of our businesses.

Where does the money actually go?

To camps and year round programming for kids with cancer and their families. That includes our companion program, which pairs each camper with a trained volunteer, and support for siblings and parents. Families never pay for any of it.

Do we have to handle cash?

Only if you want to. If your register does process round ups, your local staff or volunteer will walk you through remittance before you start.

Room on your counter is all we need.

A dollar here. A dollar there. That is how a kid with cancer gets a week of being a kid again.
