At just 9 years old, Jaxson has already faced challenges no child should endure. Diagnosed with leukemia at age 3, Jaxson has bravely fought not one but two battles with cancer, with his second diagnosis at age 6. Now, three months cancer-free, his journey of resilience continues at Camp Quality (CQ).
CQ has given Jaxson something beyond medical treatment—it’s provided him with hope, confidence, and a place where he doesn’t feel alone. His father shared, “Jaxson loved making new friends. His favorite activities were swimming and the talent show. Camp helped him build confidence, knowing other kids were facing similar challenges. It made him feel like he wasn’t the only one dealing with life’s hardest moments.”
Kristin Patterson, CQ’s Director, recalled Jaxson’s unwavering spirit: “No matter what kind of day he was having, Jaxson was always smiling. His heart is huge. He’d color me pictures every day, eager to share his joy with others. Even on tough days, his smile reminded me to live fully and be thankful.”
Jaxson cheering on other kids who are battling cancer, too. He recently received donated KC Chiefs game tickets and gave them to other kids battling cancer. Soon, he’ll be bring little crowns to kid’s in the hospital telling them they’re “kings and queens of the kingdom.”
