In 2022, at just seven years old, Leo was diagnosed with T-cell ALL leukemia, spending months in the hospital. There was a time when Leo couldn’t do the things most kids his age enjoy—family outings, playdates, and even school became impossible.
But then, Leo found Camp Quality, a place where his medical needs were met, allowing him to experience the joys of childhood. His parents describe Camp Quality as “an incredible light.” It gave Leo a chance to create new memories, build friendships, and regain his independence and self-confidence.
They say, the impact on his happiness and well-being is beyond measure. “Camp Quality is a place of healing and growth, as well as a cherished gift to our family. Going back every year (to camp) as this cycle of healing continues, is one of the greatest contributing factors to this kid’s recovery.”
Today, while Leo continues chemotherapy and frequent trips to the ER, he is able to attend school and participate in social activities. His journey is still ongoing, but with the care of medical professionals and the support of Camp Quality, Leo’s future is bright.
