At 12 years old, Isaac has already overcome challenges that most people will never face. Diagnosed with leukemia (ALL preB) in 2015, he spent three years in treatment until finally finishing chemotherapy in July 2018. This summer, Isaac returned to Camp Quality after several years, eagerly anticipating all his favorite camp activities, especially swimming.

Isaac attended camp with his three brothers—Elijah, David, and Luke. The lake quickly became their favorite spot, where they could be found casting lines and sharing laughter over fishing stories. Outside of camp, the brothers bond over football, but at Camp Quality, they connected over new experiences with other kids who understand what it’s like to face the challenges of cancer.

Isaac’s mom shared how much she valued the positive role models at camp. “Companions seemed to provide older kids with good life skill advice and I really appreciated this as they are more receptive to this,” she said. Isaac’s cabin included several companions who were once campers themselves, showing Isaac and his brothers firsthand that Camp Quality is more than a summer getaway—it’s a lifelong community.
